All of the proceeds from this T-Shirt will go to The Equal Justice Initiative. The Equal Justice Initiative is a non-profit organization that was founded by Bryan Stevenson, a leader in the movement for civil rights and social justice. He is a widely acclaimed public interest lawyer and has won over 135 cases for wrongly condemned prisoners on death row and won relief for hundreds of others wrongly convicted or unfairly sentenced people in the unjust criminal justice system.
The EJI provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons. They challenge the death penalty and excessive punishment, and help people who are re-entering society after leaving prison. This initiative is on the front lines for criminal justice reform, fighting police brutality, and raising awareness for the systemic oppression of marginalized communities that is happening in America.
EJI works with marginalized communities that have been impacted by poverty and had opportunities taken away due to unequal treatment. They are committed to changing the narrative about race in America. EJI is also active in research and recommendations that helps to assist advocates and policymakers in the critically important work of criminal justice reform.
Please check out the incredible work they are doing and the impact they have made.
